PARVIS MAMNUN | STORYTELLER
PARVIS MAMNUN (Iran)
What Parvis Mamnun offers us is storytelling at it’s finest, coming directly from ancient Persia. That’s where he learned to tell stories of dervishes and mystics, earning, according to an old tradition of storytellers in Isfahan, the title of “Champion of Improvisional Storytelling” – an honor held by only two or three storytellers in Iran today.
Parvis Mamnun came to Europe fifty years ago and combines ancient Persian with European arts of storytelling. This makes his performances unique, as he also improvises, sings and plays music. Whether he tells stories from the Orient, the famous Persian epics of world literature or “Ali Baba and Dr. Faust ” which tells us how he adapted to European culture – Parvis Mamnun is always a work of art!
